Fernando Freire

Fernando Freire has more than three decades of experience in banking, operations and investment management. He began his career in 1987 at Banco BBM in Brazil, where he spent 22 years and rose to partner level, leading back-office, clearing and compliance functions while supporting proprietary trading, credit, and asset management. His work included designing operational routines, implementing risk methodologies and working closely with senior leadership in business planning. Between 2010 and 2017, Fernando broadened his expertise to include private equity projects, a family office, and his own financial advisory practice. He relocated to Portugal in 2018 to join Heed Capital, where he now serves as a fund manager, applying his operational depth and long-term perspective to the firm’s investment activities.
